I had to avoid the paths that I normally follow as they were too slippy to run on safely, so I was running along the grassy edges of the paths which were less icy, but covered in a good three inches or so of snow and are very uneven.

Turns out that running on uneven ground that’s hidden by a few inches of snow is murder on your legs! Felt hardcore to be out in such conditions though, and I’ve found the knowing nods of approval from fellow ice runners very encouraging :) – normally other runners in the park just ignore me. Or rush past in a blur…

Today I had a lunch meeting for a project I’m working on, so was eating out and therefore didn’t stick 100% to the slow carb diet plan. We had dim sum at a very nice restaurant near Paddington, so although there were carbs involved, it wasn’t the most outrageously unhealthy meal I could have had (nor was it the most healthy either…).

Day’s food and drink totalled up to:

3 eggs, spinach, salsa and a mug of green tea for breakfast

1 protein shake post run

lots of dim sum and green tea for lunch

1 large black coffee

1 protein shake post evening workout

1 portion of quorn and veg stir fry for dinner (BTW – on stir fry nights I don’t have any rice or noodles, etc just protein and veg)

2 pints of water through the day.

This evening’s workout was:

1 set of 10 (5 on each side) kettle-bell clean and presses with a 20kg bell

1 set of 10 (5 on each side) kettle-bell clean and presses with a 28kg bell

1 set of 10 (5 on each side) kettle-bell clean and presses with a 20kg bell

1 set of 10 (5 on each side) kettle-bell clean and presses with a 28kg bell

1 set of 10 (5 on each side) kettle-bell clean and presses with a 20kg bell

The 28kg bell sets are starting to be a touch easier, but are still tough. The 20kg sets feel like nothing in comparison.

Tomorrow is a fasting and resting day, which is good as I don’t think my legs and ankles could take another run like this morning’s straight away. It’s also forecast to be very cold, which could make fasting more challenging…

Morning Measurements

Weight: 99.2kg down 0.8kg since yesterday
Body Fat percentage: 19.1% up 0.5% since yesterday
BMI: 25.3 down 0.2 since yesterday

This morning’s run was even more icy than yesterday’s, and was not comfortable.
