2013 Fitness plan: Day 3 Week 2
Today was a fasting day. The third I’ve done so far. It was also a rest day (no training) which was a good thing as I woke up tired again. Managed to snooze for a bit before having to get up which helped.
The fasting didn’t feel too bad until this evening when the hunger really kicked in, but I managed to stick with it and didn’t give in and eat anything I shouldn’t have. I’m finding that keeping this blog is helping to motivate me; knowing that any transgression will (should) be documented publicly here helps to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Last year I kept a record of what I ate for most of the year, and while it helped keep me mindful of what I was eating, because it wasn’t shared or public it didn’t seem to matter as much if I didn’t stick 100% to the plan. This time its different.
So, today I had:
- breakfast 1 egg and 1 apple and a mug of green tea
- lunch was the same; 1 egg and 1 apple
- dinner was, again, 1 egg and 1 apple
- I had two pints of water through the day
- 2 cups of black coffee
- 1 cup of earl grey tea (with a slice of lemon)
- 1 mug of bovril with a few drops of hot chilli sauce in it.
At lunch time I put a tiny dap of mayonaise on my egg and this evening I added hot chilli sauce to the egg just to mix things up a bit. I’ve noticed that restricting my meals to tiny portions has lead to me eating much more slowly than I normally would, savouring each mouthful.
I’m looking forward to normal sized portions tomorrow.

BMI: 25.6 no change since yesterday
